
A 16-year-old male has been charged with a felony after being arrested on January 15 in the alleged armed hijacking of a vehicle in December last year. According to the Chicago Police Department's news release, the juvenile offender faces one count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm.
The incident occurred on December 8, 2024, when a 42-year-old male victim reported his vehicle was taken at gunpoint. The Chicago Police Vehicular Hijacking Task Force apprehended the suspect in the 1500 block of S. Broadway Ave. in Harvey, Illinois, as reported by the CPD. Following the arrest, authorities were able to place charges against, the juvenile whose identity remains under protection due to his age.
The details surrounding the apprehension of the young offender and the events leading to his identification have not been fully disclosed at this time.
