A 16-year-old girl was killed yesterday morning crash in Jefferson County, as reported by local authorities. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, according to KSDK, stated that the fatal incident happened around 1 a.m. on Sunrise School Road.
The teen was driving a Ford Ranger with a 15-year-old girl as a passenger when the vehicle veered off the right side of the road and collided with an embankment, leading to the truck to overturn. FOX2Now adds that the crash resulted in minor injuries for the 15-year-old passenger present in the vehicle.
Authorities indicated that both teens were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident, which could have potentially played a role in the tragic outcome. Emergency Medical Services pronounced the driver dead at the scene. The surviving passenger’s condition and identity have not been disclosed, other than the severity of her injuries being classified as minor.
