A man has been arrested in connection to a deadly kidnapping that took place in Cochise County. The Cochise County Sheriff's Department reported that a 75-year-old woman managed to call them on Friday, Jan. 3, around 8:10 p.m., saying she had been abducted near Catclaw Road and Highway 181 in Pearce, Ariz., by an individual later identified as Rynn Prairie-Rocca, as detailed by FOX 10 Phoenix.
The woman, who was taken in her own car, described a terrifying ordeal where she was restrained and blindfolded by the suspect. She narrated her experience to the deputies, according to 12 News, "I heard several loud noises shortly after but didn't know what had happened." She managed to escape when the abductor stopped at a Dollar General store, believing he was still inside when she sought help.
Upon returning to the woman's home for a welfare check, the police discovered a tragic scene. Her 67-year-old boyfriend was found dead, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix. The suspect, 37-year-old Prairie-Rocca, was located at another residence where he had barricaded himself before law enforcement took him into custody.
No motive has yet been disclosed publicly as the investigation remains ongoing. Prairie-Rocca has been booked into the Cochise County Jail, where he awaits charges, as per 12 News.
