
In a tragic incident early Monday morning, an 87-year-old woman lost her life in a house fire located in Memphis, Tennessee. The blaze, according to the Memphis Fire Department, was unintentionally sparked by an electrical issue. Action News 5 first reported the fire's occurrence at a residence near Bowen Avenue and National Street, within the bounds of The Heights neighborhood.
Fire crews were dispatched after the incident was reported just after 9:30 a.m. Upon arriving at the home on Bowen Avenue in what is known as the Grahamwood area, responders discovered the elderly victim deceased. The Memphis Fire Department declared the cause of the fire was an accidental electrical fire, FOX13 Memphis noted.
Additionally, WREG reported that the blaze took place in the Highland Heights neighborhood, pinpointing the location to the 3400 block of Bowen. A fire department official confirmed the fire's accidental nature, stating that the cause is listed as an accidental electrical fire.
