
Adam Berrios has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Visit Sandy Springs, taking over the helm of the city's tourism efforts as of January 6, with his experience spanning the Southeast and his heart set on promoting the growth of Sandy Springs.
In a statement obtained by Visit Sandy Springs, Berrios expressed his excitement about returning to the region he kept in mind through his decade-long career, his ambition to share the development of Sandy Springs with visitors nationwide is underscored by years of sales management and a firm grasp on the meeting planner industry, Berrios noted, “As my career has taken me around the Southeast over the past decade, Sandy Springs has remained on my mind. I look forward to returning to the region and sharing how much it has grown with meeting planners and visitors all over the country.”
Before this new role, Berrios fine-tuned his expertise as Vice President of Sales and Services at the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau, where he led a myriad of teams, from sales to destination services, honing hotel partnerships alongside. His past positions include a stint at VisitGreenvilleSC as senior sales manager, where he played a pivotal role in business development within tourism, backed by his academic qualifications from Georgetown University and the University of South Carolina.
Adam Berrios's appointment was the outcome of a national search initiative spearheaded by Mayor Rusty Paul, Chairman of Visit Sandy Springs, Mayor Paul heralded the wealth of experience that Berrios brings from other destination marketing organizations he said in a statement, “We are excited to have Adam lead the Visit Sandy Springs team and the future of tourism in our destination,” Mayor Paul added, “Adam brings a wealth of experience from other destination marketing organizations and has proven to be a tremendous leader with a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of business development in the tourism realm. Between his previous sales and marketing experience and his knowledge and love for this area, I have no doubt Adam will position Visit Sandy Springs as a top contender for meetings, conventions, and sporting events, helping to drive more tourism and direct spending to our destination,” according to Visit Sandy Springs.
