Alameda County Narcotics Task Force Seizes 28 Kilograms of Fentanyl in East Oakland Raid, Four Suspects ChargedSource: Alameda County Sheriff's Office

In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking in the Bay Area, the Alameda County Narcotics Task Force has hit a major nerve in the local fentanyl trade. A long-term investigation zeroed in on a group believed to be distributing large quantities of the lethal opioid throughout the region. According to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, the operation reached its apex yesterday with a coordinated effort across various locations in East Oakland.

Authorities confirmed that during the operation, no less than 28 kilograms of fentanyl were seized, and $155,000 in cold cash was also recovered. The Sheriff’s Office was bolstered by the expertise of the California DOJ fentanyl enforcement program in this extensive endeavor. The sweep culminated in the detainment of four individuals, three men and one woman, who face serious charges, including conspiracy and possession of fentanyl for sale. Adding to the weight of their predicament is the newly enacted 2025 fentanyl weight enhancement charge.

Those arrested in the sweep were ushered to the Santa Rita Jail.
