The City of Norton Shores has officially named Antonio (Tony) Gutierrez as its new Fire Chief, a seasoned expert with over two decades in fire service. His appointment fills the pivotal role of overseeing local emergency response and fire prevention strategies in the community that he has long been a part of. Gutierrez, a Mona Shores High School alumni and lifelong resident of the city, couples his 26 years of experience in fire service with deep-rooted community ties.
According to an announcement from FOX 17 Online, Gutierrez has also spent the last 20 years as a part-time firefighter for Norton Shores and is currently the Fire Chief at Gerald R. Ford International Airport. His expertise does not end at conventional fire services; he has dedicated 24 years as a Hazmat Technician, eventually ascending to the position of Hazmat Chief six years past.
The city's embrace of Gutierrez is evident in their social media celebrations, and the pride in his return to Norton Shores is palpable. "Tony lives in Norton Shores with his wife and two children, and we’re excited to welcome him back to lead our fire department," shared the City of Norton Shores's Facebook page.
