An Arlington Heights woman, identified as Tiffany Main, faced a court order to be detained pre-trial after being accused of fleeing from police and causing a car crash in a residential neighborhood. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Oak Brook Chief of Police Brian Strockis disclosed that Judge Joshua Dieden agreed to the State’s motion to detain the 32-year-old, who has been hit with multiple charges including Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, as well as driving with a revoked license, as reported by DuPage County State’s Attorney’s office.

During the early hours of Thursday, Oak Brook police officers responded to a report concerning a vehicle with a suspended license plate in the Timber Trails subdivision. One officer spotted the suspect vehicle, triggering a confrontation that ended with Main allegedly driving over spike strips, and then fleeing in the damaged vehicle before crashing into a median. Running on foot—having slammed the pursuing squad car—Main was finally apprehended, leaving behind her co-defendant, Patryk Zubrzcki, 41, to be captured after a brief chase, located in possession of methamphetamine and other personal mail.

"The allegations that Ms. Main twice drove over spike strips, sped away from police on four flat tires, crashed her car into a median and then attempted to flee on foot are outrageous," Berlin stated. He further emphasized the reckless nature of the conduct, highlighting the risks it posed not just to the suspect but also to law enforcement and the public. Meanwhile, Zubrzcki, facing charges including identity theft and possession of methamphetamine, managed to avoid pretrial detention due to the non-detainable nature of his charges.

The next court date for both defendants is set for February 3, 2025, in front of Judge Brian Telander.
