Last Friday night, a robbery occurred in the Tower Grove South neighborhood, leaving three men without their vehicle but thankfully unharmed. According to a report by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the 25-year-old owner of a black Cadillac Escalade and two companions were sitting in the parked vehicle on the 4200 block of Juniata when they found themselves suddenly confronted by two armed individuals. The assailants, described merely as men, demanded that the victims vacate the car under gunpoint.
The victims complied, having been taken by surprise. They watched as the robbers then proceeded to quickly get behind the wheel and drive away with the stolen Escalade. Police later found the car, abandoned, in the 4600 block of Fillmore. No personal injuries were reported as a result of the incident, which added to a troubling trend of vehicular crimes in city neighborhoods. The incident was disclosed in a public statement by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department yesterday.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police's District 2 is actively investigating the robbery and has not yet released descriptions of the suspects involved. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the police are urging anyone with information to come forward. This theft underscores the ever-present risk of crime for city residents, particularly in the late hours of the evening. Community members in the area are reminded to remain vigilant and to always report suspicious activities to the authorities.
