
Athens-Clarke County services and facilities will be closed or have modified hours on January 20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Regular operations will resume the following day, according to the Athens-Clarke County.
On MLK Day, the Animal Services Adoption Center will be closed, with emergency services available through 911. Leisure Services facilities and parks will be closed or have reduced hours, except for Sandy Creek Park, which will be closed. Garbage and recycling pickup will be delayed by one day, except in Downtown, where services will continue as usual, as reported by the Athens-Clarke County.
On January 21, services and administrative functions, including transit, City Hall, and other government buildings, will resume operations. Residents can expect normal schedules for public transportation, city services, and access to various facilities.
