The city of Atlanta is gearing up for a classic display of winter weather over the coming week, according to the latest forecasts. Starting today, Atlantans can expect a mostly sunny day with temperatures peaking around 39 degrees, based on projections from the National Weather Service. A light westerly breeze may occasionally brush the streets, but nothing to hunker down about.
As nightfall encroaches, residents should see partly cloudy skies with the mercury dipping to a chilly 27 degrees. Come tomorrow morning, there's a slim chance—just 20%—to catch some showers between 10 and 11 a.m. The day promises partly sunny skies with temperatures expected to gently rise to about 46 degrees. And while the winds are set to remain light, they might choose to suddenly gust up to 20 mph later in the evening, as reported by the National Weather Service.
Tuesday through Thursday should bring Atlantans a streak of sunny days. Although temperatures will hover in the low 40s during this period, clear nights will see temperatures drop to the mid-20s. The narrative takes a warmer turn on Friday with a sunny sky boasting a high near 55 degrees, preluding a potentially wet weekend.
Weather patterns indicate that showers on Friday night are likely, with a 60% chance of precipitation and a low around 39 degrees. This trend is predicted to continue into Saturday, with a 70% chance of showers. Despite the rain, the high should match Friday's at around 55 degrees to help make somewhat more bearable the dreary drizzles.
