
The City of Atlanta announced that Chief Procurement Officer Jaideep Majumdar is stepping down to pursue new opportunities. The city expressed gratitude, stating, "We sincerely thank Mr. Majumdar for his dedicated service and contributions to the City and wish him the very best in his future endeavors," according to the City of Atlanta.
The City of Atlanta announced on Tuesday, that Attorney Chandra Houston will serve as the Interim Chief Procurement Officer. Houston was chosen for her strong leadership, legal expertise, and successful history in improving procurement and city operations.
Attorney Houston is the Deputy City Attorney for the City of Atlanta’s Business Services Division. With over 30 years of experience, she previously led the Contracts Management Services Team, where "she standardized contract language and negotiation processes," creating new templates and a Negotiation Playbook. A graduate of Howard University School of Law and Georgia State University, Houston also founded Georgia-Pacific’s compliance program. Now serving as Interim Chief Procurement Officer, she will continue to enhance the city's procurement processes.
