Chaos erupted at the Sequoia Station in Redwood City last night as San Mateo County Sheriff’s Deputies discovered a violent episode. While performing a routine check at the Caltrain platform, the deputies witnessed a scuffle that had escalated to dangerous levels. In a press release issued by the Redwood City Police Department, it was relayed that at around 8:11 P.M., two individuals were involved in a severe confrontation.
Upon the arrival of law enforcement, the individuals ceased their altercation, but not before one was found clutching a knife and the other grievously wounded with multiple stab wounds. The victim was promptly attended to and escorted to a nearby hospital, where they are expected to recover. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Cody Dwight Washington of Redwood City was detained on the scene without further episodes and, following identification, was booked on charges of attempted homicide and a parole violation.
According to the Redwood City Police Department, the motive behind this confrontation remains unclear, just as the nature of the relationship between Washington and the victim is presently veiled in mystery.
