In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Barrow County will close its administrative offices, courts, senior center, and animal shelter on January 20. This closure observes the national holiday dedicated to the civil rights leader’s legacy, according to the Barrow County.
Victor Lord Park will remain open to the public, but buildings and athletic fields will be closed. The batting cages, tennis courts, and pickleball courts will still be available for use, as reported by the Barrow County.
Barrow County residents should be aware of service changes for the holiday. While the Water office will be closed, a small team will remain on duty for emergencies. For water emergencies, call (770) 307-6610, and for wastewater emergencies, call (770) 298-9527. For other concerns, contact the office at (770) 307-3014. Public safety services will continue without interruption, with essential personnel working through the MLK Day observance to ensure the community remains safe.
