The Benbrook Fire Department recently celebrated its annual firefighter banquet, a night filled with honors and recognition for the brave individuals who put their lives on the line to keep the community safe. The department proudly announced the event's award winners on its official social media page. Among the accolades, Jake Humphries was named Rookie of the Year, with Officer of the Year going to Kevin Nicholson and Conner Harding earning the Firefighter of the Year title.
Further commendations were given to Drew Belanger, who secured the EMS Professional of the Year and shared in the Life Saving Award alongside colleagues Sarah Scheinoha, Logan Prater, Michael Poe, and Howard Haber. Sarah Scheinoha's achievements were doubly noted as she was promoted to Lieutenant, marking a significant career milestone, as Benbrook Fire Department detailed.
The banquet wasn't just for those who have been serving for years. Three department members, Nathan Justice, Jake Humphries, and Mitchell Morgan, were recognized for completing their first year as firefighters. Each received their one-year pins in a ceremony that marks their rite of passage and symbolizes their dedication to the profession.
