A Boca Raton dentist who was initially accused of a $157,000 insurance fraud scheme has been cleared of all charges after prosecutors determined he was not responsible for the fraudulent claims. Dr. Steven London, 57, had faced felony charges including theft and insurance fraud, but CBS12 reports that all charges have been dismissed.
Following sworn depositions and a forensic review of Dr. London's medical and financial records, Palm Beach County prosecutors determined that the fraudulent claims involving MetLife, Delta Dental, and Aetna Insurance stemmed from actions taken by an employee of Dr. London's practice who was attempting to conceal her own theft. The State Attorney's Office for the 15th Judicial Circuit dismissed the case with prejudice after finding the allegations to be unfounded and based on falsified testimony and altered evidence.
Dr. London did not enter a plea, did not admit to any wrongdoing, and faces no penalties. The dismissal fully clears him of all allegations and wrongdoing. The original investigation by the Department of Financial Services had alleged that Dr. London and his office manager created fabricated claims and manipulated treatment dates and dental records, with bank records showing proceeds deposited into Dr. London's Bank of America account.
The State of Florida Board of Medicine shows that Dr. London maintains an active and "clean" medical license, set to expire in February 2026. Originally licensed in 1993, Dr. London has established a long-running practice within the Boca Raton community, with his previous address on record listed as a home within the Saturnia community in West Boca Raton.
