As per NBC Boston, Murray is accused of assault and battery on a household member, and witnesses say improper storage of a firearm during an altercation in Hull, Massachusetts, the implications of such accusations present a dire challenge to the faith in those charged with upholding the law. The officers who responded found Murray's firearm stored in a manner contrary to regulations in his vehicle and alleged steroids were also discovered at the scene.
With the POST Commission's actions, Officer Murray is now barred from carrying out law enforcement duties and must relinquish his badge, service weapon, and other issued equipment, as noted by Boston 25 News. This suspension comes after a preliminary probe presented what the Commission described as "sufficient evidence" to take such a measure against the officer.
