A Boynton Beach man has been slated to serve a five-year federal prison term for his crimes involving child sexual abuse material. Timothy Burch Morris, aged 46, faced the law for circulating videos that depicted the abuse of minors. In addition to his incarceration, Chief United States District Judge Marcia Morales Howard ordered that Morris follow up his term with five years of supervised release and contribute $10,000 for the benefit of child victims. Moreover, he is required to register as a sex offender, cementing the consequences of his illicit activities, as per the U.S. Attorney's Office.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office revealed that an undercover FBI operation was central to exposing Morris's activities. On November 22, 2023, he transmitted two videos showing minors in sexual exploitation scenarios to an undercover agent on a social media app. The distribution followed a revealing exchange where Morris expressed a preference for adolescent girls. "I just love stroking to guys [sic] daughters," Morris had typed.
Following the initial contact, investigators conducted a search of Morris’s home where they seized his cellphone. The device held several images of a sexual nature, affirming the disturbing content that Morris had earlier shared with the undercover agent. His arrest was the culmination of efforts by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in both Jacksonville and West Palm Beach, augmented by assistance from the Boynton Beach Police Department.
This particular case forms part of the wider "Project Safe Childhood" initiative, as chronicled in a Department of Justice release. Launched in 2006, this far-reaching project aims to stamp out the epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse by joining federal, state, and local forces. Assistant United States Attorney D. Rodney Brown was responsible for the prosecution, ensuring that Morris faced the percussions of his actions.
