In a grave incident dating back to the arid late summer days of 2024, the Buckeye Police have now forwarded charges to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office against a woman in the death of her child. The child, a 3-year-old girl, was found unresponsive in a hot car outside a home near Verrado Way and McDowell Road on September 8, succumbing to the scorching heat within a minivan where she was discovered, according to AZFamily.
Detailed reports reveal a scenario wherein the family returned from an outing to a neighborhood park, entering their home between 2 and 2:30 p.m., however, the crushing realization that the girl was not among them did not surface until hours later, shortly before the harrowing discovery was made close to 5 p.m., with the outdoor temperature hitting a searing 107 degrees and a deadly 130 degrees inside the vehicle despite the car doors being opened when authorities arrived, as per AZFamily.
After the Buckeye Police Department's investigation, the mother faces prospective manslaughter and child abuse charges. This encapsulates the weight of a tragedy that saw a young life perish and a family forever altered. "The Maricopa County Attorney's Office is reviewing the case," police said in a statement, a sentiment echoed by Fox 10 Phoenix.
