
Early Sunday morning tragedy struck in Calumet City as a pedestrian was fatally hit by a vehicle, local police confirmed. The incident occurred just before 6 a.m. in the 1900 block of River Oaks Drive, in the proximity of Paxton Avenue. The WGN-TV reported that upon arrival, first responders found the man already deceased, a harsh reality emerging as the sun was yet to rise fully, painting a grim start to the day.
Authorities from the Calumet City Police Department stated that all individuals involved in the accident had opted to stay on the scene, ensuring quick cooperation with law enforcement officials in the unfolding investigation.
