Residents of Casa Grande should be aware of the upcoming phone service interruptions at City Hall. According to an announcement on the City's official website, the disruptions are scheduled for Monday, January 13, and Wednesday, January 15. The interruptions coincide with the planned upgrade of the city's phone system, aiming to bring about communication enhancements.
During the upgrade, on January 13, several departments including the City Clerk, which handles Passports, and the City Manager's Office will become incommunicado by phone. The disruption, spanning across various departments at the City Hall Main Building, is part of the planned upgrade to better serve city residents. Published on the City's website, the notice explained, "The following departments located in the City Hall Main Building will be unavailable by phone: 'Front Desk,' 'City Clerk (Including Passports),' 'City Manager’s Office,' 'Public Information Office,' 'CG LINK (Transit Manager),' 'Planning & Development (Including Permitting, Code Enforcement),' 'Economic Development,' 'City Attorney’s Office.'"
Meanwhile, on January 15, City Hall’s Building B, which houses departments like Finance and Human Resources, will experience the same phone service outage. The upgrades are a necessary step to improve the city's existing infrastructure and although they present a temporary inconvenience, the long-term benefit is anticipated to be substantial for community interactions with these departments.
For those concerned about emergency services, fear not. The city has made it clear that emergency communications, such as 911, will not be impacted by the phone system upgrade. The City of Casa Grande assured, "These disruptions will not affect the public’s ability to contact 911 for emergency services." Residents are thanked for their patience and cooperation during these times of improvement, and many questions can still be addressed by visiting the City's website or contacting staff through email, which can be found in the online directory by selecting the appropriate department.
