A 21-year-old man from Charlotte has been charged with murder in the recent death of a woman who suffered fatal injuries in a car crash on Christmas night. WCNC Charlotte reports that Dreshon Jibri Moreno has also been charged with robbery, after allegedly stealing the victim's cell phone at gunpoint.

According to court documents referenced by QC News, Moreno is accused of threats of violence with a pistol against the victim, Kennedi Aniyah Flora Jones, who was later found with life-threatening injuries inside her car, which had gone down an embankment on Shamrock Drive.

Law enforcement responded to the scene near Hickory Grove Road after 11 p.m. on the night of the incident. Jones was subsequently pronounced dead at the hospital, succumbing to her injuries. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's involvement in the case was corroborated by WSOCTV, which also highlighted that a homicide investigation was launched following the crash, leading to Moreno's charges.

Currently, Moreno is being held in jail without bond. The case, charged with layers of tragedy and violence, has grabbed the city's attention as court records show an initial court appearance is scheduled for Moreno tomorrow.
