A CTA Green Line train became the scene of a violent robbery in West Garfield Park, with Chicago police now urgently seeking the public's assistance in apprehending the suspects. On December 24, just before 9:00 p.m., a passenger fell victim to an altercation that quickly escalated—resulting in a stabbing and the theft of personal property. According to ABC7 Chicago, police have released images of the two suspects, a man and a woman, involved in the Christmas Eve incident.
Witnesses reported that the suspects, who have yet to be apprehended, were a male and a female in their late teens. After the male suspect seemed to quickly enter into a fight with the victim, the female suspect proceeded to separately rob additional items from the beleaguered passenger. The man believed to be between 18 and 19 years old, sported long dreadlocks and was clad in a black t-shirt, light-colored jeans, and white gym shoes. The female accomplice, described as being between 16 and 18 years of age, wore a black jacket, black pants, and black and white Nike gym shoes, FOX 32 Chicago reported.
As the investigation proceeds, law enforcement is presently working through the details of the case. The condition of the victim, after the stabbing, remains undisclosed by authorities.
