Last week, CHP Oakland had an encounter involving a stolen vehicle, a juvenile, and a loaded shotgun. According to a social media post by the California Highway Patrol Oakland Division, officers were alerted to a stolen red Kia last Thursday, identified by a Flock Safety Camera.
The CHP Airplane Air-37 was called into action and located the vehicle cruising near 14th Avenue and International Boulevard. The vehicle eventually stopped near 18th Avenue and Commerce Way, the driver ditched the Kia opting for a less motorized escape through San Antonio Park, but didn’t get far before officers nabbed him.
During the investigation at the scene, officers found more than just the stolen car keys; "a loaded shotgun and burglary tools were recovered at the scene," says the CHP Oakland post. The juvenile was booked into Alameda County Juvenile Hall, now facing several charges.
