Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is ready to grow its presence significantly in Butler County, announcing a plan for a $365 million overhaul of its Liberty Township campus that was greenlit earlier this week, as reported by FOX19. The upcoming expansion is set to triple the number of beds from 42 to 114 and enhance patient care capabilities with the construction of a 230,000-square-foot addition and a separate 150,000-square-foot medical office building.
This development is considered Cincinnati Children's second-largest capital investment since the arrival of its $600 million critical care tower in 2021. According to details obtained by the Cincinnati Business Courier, site preparation is scheduled to commence in March 2025, with the construction of the medical office building kicking off in the summer. These extended regional efforts will add numerous outpatient specialty clinics to the hospital's robust care system, leading to hundreds of new jobs. Dr. Steve Davis, president and CEO of Cincinnati Children’s, reinforced the strategic move by stating, “We are improving access for children and families in and around Butler County by bringing more services close to home." According to FOX19.
The upgrades to existing hospital space include improving more than 100,000 square feet, optimizing patient flow, and enhancing imaging capabilities. As per The Journal-News, eight new rooms are projected for completion in summer 2029. The Liberty Campus opened its doors in 2008 and has seen incremental growth. It intends to address the increased demand for services and foster easier access for the surrounding communities.
