Clayton County authorities have apprehended one of their most wanted fugitives, Javin Alejandro Fonseca, in connection to the murder of a 16-year-old, officials announced. The City of Riverdale Police Department had responded to a fatal shooting on January 14, where they discovered the teenager with multiple gunshot wounds to the back, resulting in his death.
Fonseca, 20, was taken into custody at a residence in Forest Park after being identified as the suspect in the killing. FOX 5 Atlanta reports that Fonseca was not only issued malice murder warrants but was also placed on the Clayton County Sheriff's Office's Top Ten Most Wanted list following the incident.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution notes that after thorough investigation, detectives were able to connect Fonseca to the crime, which led to swift action by local law enforcement. He is currently facing a charge of malice murder and has been booked into Clayton jail.
Law enforcement surrounded the home before taking Fonseca into custody.
