
The Cobb County Civil Service Board announced elections for Post #5, with the primary election taking place from February 24 to March 9. If a runoff is needed, it will run from March 14 to March 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The elected member will serve a four-year term starting April 1, according to Cobb County Human Resources.
Candidates looking to participate in the election must satisfy certain requirements, including having resided in Cobb County for a minimum of two years before their term starts. Also, they cannot hold or even seek any other salaried public office at the federal, state, county, or municipal level during the term or six months prior to qualifying. Another stipulation is that they must not share familial relations with current employees or those holding elected or appointed positions in Cobb County during the term or the preceding six months.
