
A man from Creve Coeur, age 43, is in the hospital following a collision with a vehicle in East Peoria this Monday morning. 25News Now reports the man sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to OSF St. Francis for treatment. The incident, which occurred just before 6:20 a.m. at the 800 block of E. Mueller Road, involved a driver who is currently cooperating with the authorities.
The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Police are jointly investigating the circumstances of the crash. According to details provided by 25News Now, the East Peoria Fire Department was the first responders on the scene. Meanwhile, Central Illinois Proud obtained a statement from Chief Deputy Timothy Gillespie, who confirmed that the pedestrian was found with serious injuries and that the accident reconstruction is being handled by the Illinois State Police.
Initial findings by the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office, suggest that both the pedestrian and vehicle were traveling east on Muller Road when the collision took place.
