The forecast promises a wintry mix, so the city isn't taking any chances. According to the City of Dallas, the Transportation and Public Works Department is gearing up to combat potential icy road conditions. The prep work includes loading trucks with a Brine pre-treatment solution and a blend of salt and sand. When ice hits, this mixture ensures safe passage over bridges, overpasses, and intersections.
Looking ahead, the trucks are scheduled to roll out in the wee hours of the morning and then again late into the night. At 5 a.m. today, the brining trucks will be in full swing, followed by the sand and salt deployment at 11:30 p.m. These measures target the critical points across the city: major thoroughfares, Dallas Fire-Rescue stations, select Dallas Police Department buildings, and hospitals. Caught off guard by the winter, no one wants that, especially when it's about getting to emergency facilities safely.
This orchestrated effort is located in the back lot of 2710 Municipal St. The city of Dallas encourages residents and interested parties to subscribe to updates for the latest information on such initiatives.
