
Early Friday morning, a fire at a Delray Beach shopping plaza led to a grim discovery. Delray Beach Police Department reported that the fire broke out at around 6 a.m. at the location of 1005 South Congress Avenue. While firefighters addressed the blaze, they found a body in a supply closet within the affected business, according to CBS12.
Delray Beach Fire Rescue, along with investigators, quickly arrived on the scene. The current investigation is concentrated on identifying both the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the death. As stated by authorities, there's an ongoing effort to determine the specific business where the fire occurred which was located next to a clothing store within the plaza. This detail was also noted by WPBF, which mentioned that the name of store involved remains undisclosed.
Both law enforcement and the medical examiner's office are thoroughly investigating the site to ascertain identity of the deceased and any possible foul play. With the cause of fire under examination, the police have yet to release additional details regarding either a potential accident or intentional act as the initiating event.
