
The Georgia Department of Corrections has announced that Denisha Foster will be the new Deputy Warden of Security at Telfair State Prison, effective on Thursday. Foster has been in the corrections field since 2007 and will oversee a staff of officers and a population of 1,428 male offenders.
According to the Georgia Department of Corrections announcement, Commissioner Tyrone Oliver expressed confidence in Foster’s leadership, stating, “Denisha has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and exceptional leadership skills.” Foster's career began as a Correctional Officer at Wilcox State Prison, and she has since held positions as Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Unit Manager at Telfair State Prison before her promotion.
Foster holds a technical diploma in early childhood care and education from East Central Technical College and has completed numerous training programs, including Basic Correctional Officer Training, Effective Communication Training, and various levels of management and supervision training.
