According to the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office, the event underscores the office's commitment to community service by providing marriage ceremonies and processing marriage licenses right in the heart of the government center.
The event is made possible by the efforts of various officiants including Chief Deputy County Clerk Caroline Zamora and Deputy Clerk Brandi Delgado, along with April Sosa and Karen Hernandez. For couples looking to participate, appointments must be scheduled before the February 14 event. According to the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office, each couple is required to apply in person at the Clerk’s Office and bring valid IDs to finalize their application. On the day of the celebration, couples need to check in 30 minutes ahead of their scheduled slot to ensure everything runs smoothly.
In addition to the formalities, the Clerk's Office is offering couples a chance to share their personal love stories. Selected pairs will have the opportunity to feature on the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office podcast, "Preserving History and Democracy," as well as on social media. Those interested can scan a provided QR code and fill out a form with their details. A $25 fee is tagged for the marriage license, while the wedding ceremony service itself is free of charge. Couples are also welcome to make their moment special by bringing along rings, bouquets, or any personal items that hold sentimental value.
For a touch of personalization, Spanish-language ceremonies are available upon request, ensuring that the event is inclusive for all members of the community. The County Clerk's office highlights that couples should return the signed marriage license to the check-in table for recording, thus completing their marriage formalities.
