A late Tuesday night incident has left a Phoenix neighborhood shaken after an SUV barreled into a residential home in Ahwatukee. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the accident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. near 44th Street and Chandler Boulevard, where police responded to the scene of the crash. The driver was detained and later hospitalized as a precaution and processed for DUI.
Video footage captured by FOX 10 showed the black SUV wrapped in caution tape after it had collided with the garage, heavily damaging a wall of the home. Thankfully, no residents were reportedly injured during the incident.
12 News adds that the crash was responded to by authorities in the vicinity of 42nd Street and Mountain Vista Drive. Police located the male driver at the scene and identified him as the person behind the wheel of the SUV that crashed through the home.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have not released the identities of those involved in the accident. No other injuries were reported. Further updates are expected as more details become available to the public.
