
Tragedy struck in East El Paso County near Horizon City early Sunday morning as law enforcement discovered a 27-year-old woman fatally wounded in a residential area. According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on the 600 block of Zinc Place where the victim, whose identity remains protected, was found severely stabbed shortly after 3:30 a.m., as reported by KTSM. The woman was transported to an area hospital but ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
The shocking event prompted a swift response from local authorities. As obtained by KVIA, Jorge Albert Chavez, a 30-year-old man, was sighted leaving the residence at the time of the crime and was apprehended soon to be taken into custody. Details surrounding the circumstances of the stabbing and the relationship between Chavez and the victim are yet to fully emerge. The arrest took place following a coordinated search by the Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Rangers, and the Reeves County Sheriff's Office.

He was arrested on I-20 near Pecos, Texas.
