As reported by KTSM, officers responded after 8 a.m. to a welfare check at the center’s location at 1801 N. Oregon St., near the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), and subsequently found the deceased individual. At the time of discovery, the cause of death was not apparent, turning the situation into a death investigation under police scrutiny.
As detailed by ABC-7, the body was discovered in a private surface parking lot adjacent to the medical center. A spokesperson from Las Palmas acknowledged the ongoing investigation, saying, "We are aware that the El Paso Police Department responded to a call about a deceased individual in a private surface parking lot adjacent to Las Palmas Medical Center today." Yet, further details were not immediately available due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
