Last Saturday, a routine traffic stop in Redwood City led to the arrest of a 25-year-old Emeryville man. A Redwood City Police officer spotted a vehicle code violation and pulled over a Chevrolet Impala near El Camino Real and Renato Court. The stop, which transpired around 1:40 AM, quickly escalated when the officer noticed what appeared to be an illegal substance on the car's center console.

According to a social media post from the Redwood City Police Department, the investigation quickly uncovered more illicit items. The driver was found to own a loaded Smith and Wesson 40mm handgun, which he carried in his waistband.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident, and the handgun was seized as evidence. The identity of the man has not been released.
