A blaze erupted early yesterday morning in the community of Escondido, leveling an outbuilding and displacing two residents. According to the City of Escondido News Release, firefighters rushed to the scene at a property on the 100 block of Encanto Drive after a fire was reported at approximately 6:20 AM. The inferno, which started in a travel trailer and spread to a vehicle and storage shed, required the Escondido Fire Department to call for additional resources.
Initial reports from the scene revealed the presence of flames and a significant smoke plume, prompting firefighters to mount a second alarm response. Teams quickly deployed hose lines to defend the adjacent residence while extinguishing the structures already consumed by the fire. Their efforts paid off, controlling the conflagration within half an hour. The fire threat was significant, but no injuries to civilians or firefighters transpired.
The fire's aftermath saw the displacement of two adults residing in the travel trailer at the time of the incident. They will be staying with local family members, who will provide them with shelter in the face of sudden homelessness. Despite the quick response from the fire department, the travel trailer could not be saved.
