
On Sunday, a routine traffic stop took a sharp turn on Central Pl. in Fairfield, as local police officers discovered more than just traffic violations. According to the Fairfield Police Department, Officers Clatterbuck and Scherer pulled over a vehicle around 9:21 pm, leading to an unexpected haul.
During the stop at the 4300 block area, it was found that the driver, Max Richards, who a female passenger accompanied, was under active CDC parole, prompting a parole search which revealed a loaded handgun under the front passenger’s seat along with evidence of drug transactions including marijuana destined for sale and cash believed to be the proceeds from narcotic sales located in a backpack owned by Richards,
Following the discoveries, both occupants were detained without incident; the subsequent arrest led them to face charges at Solano County Jail.
