To ensure that Pennsylvania residents are covered for the year ahead, the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, in concert with Pennie, the state's health insurance marketplace, has set up shop at Temple University to remind the community that if they want to be insured come 2025, the final deadline for open enrollment is January 15.
Ahead of the deadline, officials are emphasizing the affordability of the health plans available through Pennie, noting that "nine out of 10 Pennie customers qualify for financial savings in the form of tax credits to help reduce monthly payments and out of pocket costs," as per the Pennsylvania government website. These plans aren't just affordable. They're comprehensive, covering the essentials like hospital and mental health care, prescriptions, and maternity services.
Key figures will provide assistance and information at the session, which is set for 11:00 a.m. today at Temple University. The list includes Pennsylvania Insurance Department Deputy Commissioner Shannen Logue, Pennie Executive Director Devon Trolley, State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, and Erika Tapp Duran, the interim director of Temple University's Small Business Development Center.
