As the clock struck twelve and January 1st dawned, the first Floridian newcomers of 2025 made their timely entrances. In Lake County, AdventHealth Waterman witnessed the birth of Travis Michael Morgan, heralded as Central Florida's initial newborn of the new year, according to ClickOrlando. Born to Leesburg residents Ashley Morgan and Allen Morgan, Travis entered the world weighing 7 pounds and 9 ounces at the start of the new year.
Mere moments later, Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies celebrated the arrival of Derek at 1:20 a.m., their first baby of the new year. He weighed in like his Lake County peer, 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and 19.25 inches long. His appearance, delivered to parents Davina Nguyen and Erik Kim, comes as one of many hopeful beginnings heralded by the advent of a fresh calendar span, as noted in a compilation of newborns featured by FOX 35 Orlando.
AdventHealth Tampa's first baby, Jeeno, joined the New Year's cohort at 2:29 a.m., tipping the scales at 7 pounds, 5 ounces and stretching to 20 inches in length. His arrival held a deep significance, as described by the establishment's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Doug Ross. "Welcoming a new life is always a reason to celebrate, and Baby Jeeno’s arrival as the first baby of 2025 marks a special milestone for this family and our care team," Ross said in a statement, as FOX 35 Orlando reported, adding, "The New Year is a time for hope and new beginnings, and we are honored to be part of this joyous occasion."
