In a developing lawsuit against the Ferguson-Florissant School District, Frank Williams, the former principal of McCluer North High School, and Cedric Gerald, the former McCluer High principal, have both brought allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation against Superintendent Joseph Davis. According to a report by FOX2now, Williams was demoted to assistant middle school principal after purportedly rejecting a sexual advance from Davis, which Williams claims was a retaliatory action for his resistance.
Both Williams and Gerald filed their lawsuits on Monday, with details emerging that suggest the superintendent made unwanted sexual advances and comments. Williams has reportedly claimed that Davis touched his thigh during a meeting and sent him explicit messages. As stated by his lawyer, Lauren Sierra of Jungle Law in a KSDK article, "At one point there was even an assault, where our client is alleging that the supervisor was physically touching him during this supposed work dinner, and it was completely uninvited."
Amid these accusations, the Ferguson-Florissant Board of Education is set to convene in a closed meeting on personnel and legal matters, as reported by St. Louis Post-Dispatch. This comes after increased pressure from the community for the board to potentially sever ties with Superintendent Davis.
Gerald's allegations offer to corroborate Williams's claims, as he also suggests Davis attempted to pry into his personal life during work encounters. Gerald, who is openly gay, accuses Davis of trying to discuss intimate details of his sex life, a move that allegedly led to the withholding of resources from McCluer High.
