Four men have been arrested in connection to an attempted homicide of two San José Police Department Officers, an incident that unfolded last Monday. The San Jose Police Department has provided information detailing the event, in which the plainclothes officers, stationed at a red light in an unmarked vehicle, were approached by the suspects, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Fortunately, no officers sustained injuries during the confrontation.

According to a release by the SJPD, the officers attempted to calmly radio for assistance when the suspects' vehicle, having initially passed, made a sudden U-turn and aggressively drove back towards the officers. It was then that at least one suspect opened fire, riddling the officers' car with bullets and preventing them from pursuing as the attackers sped away.

Following an intense investigation, the SJPD has identified and apprehended four individuals: Edward Ruiz, Gabriel Olmos, Robert Cesena, and Emilio Macias. According to the San José Police Department, the arrests resulted from diligent work by the Homicide Unit, Gang Investigations Unit, and Special Operations, all of which work with the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office.

Last Thursday, three suspects were arrested across different locations - Olmos in Merced, Cesena in San José, and Macias in San Francisco. Two days later, Ruiz was captured in Gilroy. All suspects are facing charges, including attempted murder.
