
The Warren County community is coming to terms with the heart-wrenching conclusion to a search for 94-year-old Susie Couch, who was found deceased near her home after being reported missing. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the discovery and stated that no foul play is suspected in Couch’s death. WHIO reported the issuance of an Endangered Missing Adult Alert when Couch, who had dementia, was last seen on Sunday at approximately 7 p.m. walking away from her home on Manchester Road in Franklin.
The couch was described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 110 pounds, and had gray hair and eyes, as per the alert details noted by WHIO. An integral tip came following a social media post from the Sheriff’s Office, which ultimately led to locating her. The tip came from the Sheriff's original post, which was crucial in bringing closure to the search.
On the evening of her disappearance, it was reported that Couch was wearing a light pink, light fleece shirt without shoes. The search extended across multiple counties, including Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Greene, Hamilton, and Montgomery, as law enforcement agencies expressed concern for her well-being due to her mental condition. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office utilized social media to disseminate information about Couch’s disappearance, effectively soliciting public assistance. According to FOX19, Couch was found dead near her home yesterday evening, nearly a day after she was reported missing and roughly two hours after the official alert went out. Law enforcement officials and the community alike have expressed their sorrow for the tragic outcome of what began as a community-wide search effort.
