Authorities in Ringgold, GA, are investigating a homicide after a body was found last Saturday near South Chickamauga Creek. The victim, identified as 37-year-old Jamie Lauren Wiley from Ringgold, was discovered by a local citizen, leading to the investigation and an arrest, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Joseph Shannon Mays, 34, was arrested for the murder of Jamie Wiley after an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, FBI, and local police. His fingerprints were identified through the FBI system, leading to his arrest on Monday. Mays is charged with Malice Murder and is being held in Catoosa County Jail without bond.
Authorities are investigating the death of Ms. Wiley, with the Catoosa County Coroner’s Office and Fire Department assisting in the recovery of her remains.
