The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Roswell after the Roswell Police Department requested an outside review. The incident left one man injured, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

On Wednesday, police encountered 33-year-old Christopher Bell from Atlanta causing a disturbance on Holcomb Bridge Road near the Regal Nissan dealership. Bell was yelling outside his car, which had its engine running. When officers approached, he tried to approach their patrol car, leading to a physical struggle before they received backup, as reported by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The altercation escalated as the officer's Taser proved ineffective against Bell, leading to the officer discharging their firearm, which resulted in Bell being shot and later hospitalized in stable condition; emergency services promptly cared for Bell at the scene prior to his transportation to a medical facility. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into the use of lethal force, as they do with all officer-involved shootings. Once the investigation is finished, the findings will be sent to the Fulton County District Attorney's Office for review.
