
A tragic incident unfolded on US-41 in Tampa this past Saturday night when a 61-year-old Gibsonton man on his bicycle was killed after being struck by a vehicle. WFLA reports that the collision occurred just south of Pennsylvania Avenue around 8:50 p.m., as the cyclist reportedly traveled into the path of a northbound Toyota RAV4, driven by a 28-year-old Riverview woman.
Traveling on the busy thoroughfare, the bicyclist, whose name has not been released pending notification of next of kin, met an untimely end when he inadvertently cut in front of the driver. The woman behind the wheel of the Toyota was not injured during the incident, according to WFLA.
Additional details shared by Tampa Free Press state that after the collision, the bicycle rider suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the Toyota, whose identity has not been disclosed, remained unharmed. Authorities are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances leading to this fatal
