Gilbert residents may experience temporary water discoloration on January 6 as the town works on a 24-inch potable water pipeline as part of CIP Project WW1060. The project involves rerouting the pipeline and exercising valves along Lindsay Road. While water service will not be interrupted, the Town of Gilbert has issued a heads-up about potential changes in water appearance.
Residents in the area between Baseline and Warner Roads and Greenfield and McQueen Roads may notice temporary discoloration in their tap water due to upcoming pipe rerouting by the town. Officials explain that this change could stir up sediment in the water lines, causing a slight tint.
The town assures residents the water remains safe and disinfected despite its appearance, as detailed by the Town of Gilbert. Crews will flush the system to restore clarity, and the discoloration should resolve within a few hours as the lines stabilize.
If, after those couple of hours, your water's still looking murky, give the water team a ring at (480) 503-6400. Alternatively, residents can reach out via Gilbert 311, lodging a "Water - Quality (Brown Water)" request, the town advises.
