Residents of Gilroy are being called to aid the Gilroy Police Department in tracking down two women suspected of embarking on a shopping spree with a stolen wallet and cell phone. In an incident dating back to December 18, 2024, a victim reported the theft of her personal belongings, taken from her car as she was visiting a loved one at the Gavilan Hills cemetery.

According to the police department's social media post, that same afternoon, the credit cards from the stolen wallet were used to quickly make a series of purchases at Shell (Garlic Farm), Cardenas, KFC, Valero, Kohl’s, and Safeway.

The local police took to social media, sharing surveillance images of the individuals involved, hoping that community members might recognize them. "If you recognize these criminals, please let us know. PMs are 100% confidential," the Gilroy Police Department posted on their Instagram page. Authorities are working to actively follow up on this case, marked by the Gilroy Police Department as GPD Case # 24-5685.
