Hendersonville, Tennessee has seen a surge in local crime after two men were apprehended for a string of vehicle burglaries and the theft of a car. The incidents led to a collaborative effort between Hendersonville Police Department (HPD) and Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), culminating in a pursuit and subsequent arrests.
Initial reports surfaced on Wednesday evening, around 6:30 p.m., detailing multiple vehicle burglaries in the Volunteer Drive region, as reported by Sumner County Source. While in the midst of their investigation, authorities were alerted to a vehicle theft nearby. The HPD swiftly embarked on tracking the stolen vehicle which led them into Nashville's Midtown area.
With MNPD's aid, the car chase involved the utilization of spike strips to halt the stolen vehicle, a tactic confirmed by WKRN. The two suspects, identified as 19-year-old Cordarious Taylor and 21-year-old Dartazz Beach, both residents of Nashville, found their flight cut short by the efficient police intervention.
Following the arrest, the duo were charged with theft of property, and a slew of vehicle burglary counts. "Both men were reportedly taken to the Sumner County Jail", states WSMV. The courts have set Taylor's bond at $130,000, while Beach's bond stands at a higher $180,000. The accused are scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on February 14. Hendersonville Police encourage anyone with information to reach out to them, or to contact Hendersonville Crime Stoppers.
The community has been shaken by the boldness of the criminals, yet the response by HPD and MNPD demonstrates a steadfast commitment to public safety and ensuring that those who flout the law are captured and charged. This case underlines the importance of interagency cooperation and the continued vigilance required to combat local crime waves, regardless of where they may rise.
