The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office recently reported a significant arrest carried out by one of its Sergeants, putting an end to a perilous saga involving a repeat offender with a problematic driving history. On New Year’s Eve, Sergeant Hagen successfully apprehended 69-year-old Michael Bowser following a vehicular pursuit and crash. According to the social media post from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office , Bowser attempted to evade a traffic stop, which led to a crash and his subsequent flight on foot.

Bowser, whose arrest record includes 21 prior DWI convictions, was located and arrested for 1st Degree DWI along with fleeing police. With this latest incident, running on the tarnished fumes of his dangerous behavior, Sergeant Hagen's swift action prevented additional harm that could have come from Bowser’s persistence in shunning the law. The Hennepin County Sheriff commended Sergeant Hagen and the Enforcement Services Division (ESD) for their dedication, noting over 260 impaired operation arrests in 2024 by the ESD.
